Frequently Asked Questions

What do you want to know?

What is TripStop?

TripStop is a web and mobile platform where you can find information about motorhome spots where overnight stays are allowed. In TripStop Partner Areas (marked with a crown on the map), you can check real-time availability, see tourist information, and also book, check in, and pay for autonomous access.

Can I book at all TripStop locations?

No, you can only book at some TripStop Partners. Below the search box “Search for a place”, there’s a quick filter “Bookings” that, if activated, shows only the places where booking through TripStop is available.

How you recover access depends on how you created your account:

  • If you sign in with Google or Apple, select “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple” to access without a password.
  • If you use email and password, click “Forgot your password?” and you’ll receive a reset link. If you don’t see it, check your spam folder and make sure you typed your email correctly.

How can I book a pitch at the camper spot?

Book directly from the TripStop app or website: select the location on the map and click “Book”.
If you’re already at the spot, scan the QR code on the entrance sign to instantly open the booking form.

Why do I need to provide so much personal data during booking?

Due to Spanish citizen security regulations (Royal Decree 933/2021), you must register all travelers’ data to report to the Ministry of the Interior. Your data is processed securely and in accordance with data protection laws. Make sure to enter the correct license plate number so the barrier opens automatically.

Is it safe to scan your ID or passport?

Yes. The camera only reads the MRZ zone of the document to fill in your details; no photo is taken or uploaded to the internet. If you prefer, you can enter the data manually.

How can I get the invoice for a booking?

The confirmation email contains a link to download your invoice. You can also go to TripStop > “Bookings”, open the booking and click “Download invoice”; if there are several, choose the one you want to download.

Can I cancel a booking and get a refund?

Cancellation conditions depend on each camper spot. Before paying, review their policy on the location’s information page. If you need help, use the contact details shown there.

What is the maximum number of days I can book?

Each camper spot sets its own maximum stay. You can see it in the location details. If you exceed that limit, you must extend your booking using the “Extend” button, or extra charges may apply. Some locations also require a waiting period before booking again.

Why am I sometimes not asked to verify payment?

Some cards use frictionless authentication allowed under PSD2 regulations: for low amounts or trusted merchants, no SMS code or extra confirmation is required. The payment is still secure and TripStop does not store your card details.

How do I access the camper spot?

The process depends on the access type:

Spots without barriers
Just park in a free pitch and follow the site’s rules. Staff regularly checks that vehicles are registered.

Spots without license plate cameras
Use the “Enter” and “Exit” buttons in your booking. These are available until you confirm final departure or your booking time ends.

Spots with license plate cameras
As you approach, the camera reads your license plate and the barrier opens if your booking is valid. If you arrive outside permitted hours, the barrier won’t open. Check your booking details on TripStop or click “Need help accessing or exiting” for support.

Can I change my pitch? How do I do it?

Yes. Use the “Change pitch” button within your booking. If the spot has automated electricity connections, the system deactivates the previous pitch and activates the new one automatically.

What should I do if another vehicle is in my assigned pitch?

Check that the pitch number and your booking are correct and valid. The other vehicle should have its own booking; see if they’ve parked in the wrong place. If the issue isn’t resolved, contact the site manager.

What should I do if the barrier or gate doesn’t open?

  • Check that your booking is active and the dates are correct.
  • Check the entry time; if you arrive too early, the pitch may not be available yet.
  • Align the vehicle properly and at least 2 meters from the barrier so the camera can read the plate.
  • Make sure the license plate in your booking is accurate.
  • Use the “Having trouble accessing?” option; some spots allow manual entry with the “Enter/Exit” buttons.
  • If the problem continues, contact the site manager with your license plate and booking reference ready.

Why is there no electricity at the pitch?

Power points are only activated for paid and registered pitches:

  • Make sure you’re at the assigned pitch or change the pitch in TripStop.
  • Ensure you booked the electricity extra; you’ll see a plug icon in your booking.
  • Note that it may not be possible to add electricity after booking and not all pitches have a connection.
  • If everything is correct and there’s still no power, contact the site manager.

Can I extend my stay?

Yes, as long as the camper spot hasn’t reached its maximum stay limit (shown on the info page). If the limit is reached or the spot imposes a minimum interval between bookings, the option to extend won’t be available.

How do I leave the camper spot?

The procedure depends on the access setup:

Spots without barriers
Leave the space and end your stay.

Spots without license plate cameras
In your booking, click “Exit”; if you choose “I’m not coming back”, the pitch is released immediately.

Spots with license plate cameras
The camera detects your plate and the barrier opens if your exit time is within the booked period. If it doesn’t open, use “Having trouble accessing or exiting?” for alternatives.
